Joanne Chang’s successful bakery has a penchant for unique spaces that blend contemporary details with beautiful displays of the food created on the premises.  Patterns and textures blend into one another, creating an informal setting, and evoking the process of baking itself.  The bustling environment of Harvard Square demands openness and efficiency of space, effects created by designating ample space for the food display and ordering experience, and separate zones for eating and waiting.
